John is a partner and Managing Director of IPD Latin America, a U.S. based independent energy consultancy specializing in above the ground risk in the oil and gas industries in Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. John has been directly involved in the company's expansion into Mexico in 2001, Colombia in 2009 and Peru in 2013. After 20 years in New York, John relocated and has been based in Bogota, Colombia since April 2011. John’s ten years of Wall Street experience in structured energy and infrastructure financing and deal-making add a unique perspective to IPD’s consulting services. He directs a range of consulting efforts at IPD, including its due diligence practice, forecasting, and other strategic client-oriented efforts.

Cajeme Villarreal es Director General de Análisis y Vigilancia del Mercado Eléctrico en la Secretaría de Energía. En esta posición dirige el diseño y la implementación de política regulatoria que rige al sector eléctrico en México. Asimismo, está a cargo de monitorear que el Mercado Eléctrico Mayorista opere en condiciones de eficiencia y competencia efectiva.

Previamente trabajó en la Unidad de Planeación de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público, donde elaboró los Criterios Generales de Política Económica para 2018 y supervisó el cumplimiento de las metas fiscales del sector público para 2017. Otras posiciones en el gobierno federal incluyen: asesor de la Subsecretaria y del Secretario de Hacienda y Crédito Público, Director General Adjunto de Análisis y Planeación en el Servicio de Administración Tributaria, así como asesor y Coordinador de Asesores del Subsecretario de Transporte.

Cajeme Villarreal estudió economía en la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, El Colegio de México y la Universidad de Chicago, donde se especializó en economía del sector público y microeconomía aplicada.

Vitor Rodrigues is Regional Manager for TÜV Rheinland's solar energy activities, in the South American region. He is a qualified factory and field inspector with over 10 years experience in the PV sector. Vitor has inspected factories in China, Europe and South Africa and PV plants worldwide. Besides this, he is teacher for a post graduate course on Renewable Energies. Vitor started his carreer at TÜV in 2006 in Portugal, starting as Junior Project Manager, eventually in the role of Business product manager Product certification. He holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University Of Aveiro, in Portugal.

Miguel Angel Alonso realizó estudios de Ingeniería Industrial en la Universidad de Zaragoza y continuó su desarrollo académico en la Universidad del Valle de México obteniendo la Licenciatura en Derecho, para posteriormente alcanzar la Maestría en Marketing y Gestión Comercial en la Universidad de Navarra, a su vez llevo a cabo estudios a este nivel relacionados a la Gestión Ambiental en el Instituto de Formación y Estudios Sociales, ampliando su trayectoria académica en Alta Dirección en el Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE).

En el año 2000 inicia su gestión en la empresa ACCIONA, como Director de Proyecto en el departamento de Ingeniería y Construcción con la finalidad de expandir la compañía en el ramo de Energías Renovables a nivel internacional en países como España, Alemania, Italia, Irlanda, Canadá y México.

Durante el año de 2006, Miguel Angel Alonso Rubio arriba a México por la empresa ACCONA, con el cargo de Director Técnico dirigiendo la implementación de ACCIONA ENERGIA EN MEXICO.

En el año de 2008, asumió la responsabilidad de la Dirección General de Acciona Energía México, la que constituye uno de los modelos a seguir en el ramo de la Energía Renovable, brindando Sustentabilidad y Compromiso Social en México.

Ramón inició su Carrera en PwC en Madrid, España. Posteriormente se mudó a México para ocupar el cargo de Consultor Senior en Capital Markets Group y después como Asesor Financiero en KPMG en la Ciudad de México. Más adelante se sumó al equipo de Banco Santander, donde fue responsable de la estructuración de transacciones financieras por más de 5 años.

El perfil bancario de Ramón ha sido clave para Zuma Energía, pues ha supervisado la participación de la compañía en las subastas y en los procesos de financiamiento que permitieron a Zuma ser la primera compañía especializada en energías limpias en asegurar financiamiento para sus proyectos.

Actualmente es responsable de la obtención y estructuración financiera en Zuma Energía.

With more than 10 years of experience in energy industry, Carlos Egido is responsible for the activities of X-Elio in Mexico. During his career, he has been involved in development, permitting, engineering and construction of renewable energy projects (geothermal, wind and solar) and also in commercial aspects of power generation projects, including auctions and PPAs. Prior to joining X-Elio as Mexico Country Manager, Carlos Egido held several management positions in different countries and companies. Egido has a BS in Mining Engineering from the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid and several postgraduate courses.

Chuck Smith is the executive vice president of Global Operations and Maintenance Sales and Solutions for SMA Solar Technology AG, headquartered in Germany. In this role, he is responsible for establishing SMA as the solar industry’s leading O&M service provider across all commercial and utility PV product and market segments. Smith’s duties include global O&M business strategy development and leadership, sales, solution and process innovation, and talent acquisition. He also drives customer loyalty and seamlessly aligns SMA O&M Sales and Solutions with all other company business functions (strategy, technology, operations, finance, legal and human resources) and business units (commercial, utility and off-grid/hybrid).
Smith joined SMA in 2010 as the senior manager of SMA’s North American service operations and quickly moved up the ranks to his current position. Before that, he spent 25 years with Hewlett-Packard in Roseville, California, where he held numerous senior management positions leading various global service and research and development teams.
Smith received a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering technology from the DeVry Institute of Technology in Columbus, Ohio. He then went on to earn master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins University in Columbia, Maryland, and the Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA program, a joint venture of Columbia University in New York and the University of California, Berkeley.

Mr. Díaz is Project Development Officer at the North American Development Bank (Nadbank), concentrated in the origination and closing of energy transactions. He has participated in numerous kinds of environmental projects, including wind, solar, methane gas, water-wastewater, solid waste, and air quality projects in both sides of the US-Mexico border. He has been actively participating with various stakeholders in Mexico’s energy reform, including consultation groups coordinated by SENER, CENACE and the CRE. Nadbank renewable energy transactions include more than 2 GW of generation capacity in the US and Mexico.
Before joining Nadbank, David Diaz worked at the Mexican Ministry of Finance, Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público. He holds a bachelor degree in Economics; and master degrees in economics and finance.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Management from the London School of Economics and a Dual Master in Economic and Financial Development from Columbia University in the City of New York and SciencesPo Paris. Prior to joining the IDB Group, Joana worked as a financial analyst for the International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group, with projects in Latin America and French and Portuguese speaking Africa. Carlos is mainly responsible for the investment and asset management within the Power sector in Mexico. He currently sits on the Board of the portfolio companies GESR, a hydro facility in the state of Nayarit; and PSC, a solar PV plant in Coahuila.
Prior to MMIF, Carlos worked in Macquarie’s investment banking division (MacCap), covering mainly Power, Telecom, and Transportation sectors across Latin America.
From 2005 to 2010, Carlos worked as a business consultant at Accenture, streamlining finance processes upon M&A transactions for Telecom and Transportation companies across Europe, India, and South Africa. Earlier in his career, Carlos also worked as a research engineer in the US and Spain.
Carlos holds a MBA from Columbia Business School in New York, and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from ULPGC University in Spain.
